Hey Guys-

Im new here. Ive been a BF.C member for over two years now. I just heard about your forum from Angrypancake.

BIO:

I am a college student at Indiana University. I work the summers to support my car. Haha I grew up around european cars. Ive always loved bimmers. Ive had several, two E34s and one E39, and an E31. A few months ago I bought my 1992 M5 from a collector in town. Im enjoying getting to know it. I cant get enough BMW talk. I hope to get to know you guys and integrate into your community here as I have on BF.C. I know we all have a wealth of knowledge about our cars. I just wanted to say hi and to tell you that I share your passion.

Cliff notes: In college. Have E34. Will sell it when nuns ice skate in hell.

Hey welcome to the boards!

How did you like your 8 series? Was it an 840 or 850?

I loved the car. It was a brilliantrot 91' 850i. Auto:( I know... It was still a great car. It wasnt terribly quick off the line, but once it was rolling, it was damn near unstoppable.

The best feeling in the world was hammering it at 60 and feeling it drop into second gear. Full torque was available and it pulled like a freight train. It was used mainly for roadtrips. My father and I are very close, and during the summers, we will usually take three or four long trips. He loved driving the car while I was sleeping. We pushed it past 150 several times, as the car had Dinan software. It was very happy at speed. It could cruise all day long at 130-140 with out a compliant. Most of our cruising was done between 90-110. Passing 18-wheelers was the most fun Ive had outside of my M5.

Strangely enough, I will probably be in the market for a late 90s 840 in the next year or so. The design is classic. Its got to be one of the sexiest BMWs ever built. Sure, it had its problems. (mainly why I got rid of it) But I loved every second behind the wheel.
