Got rid of the F 250 recently and decided to look for something a bit smaller. :D
10/99, 1 owner, immaculate service records at dealer - couldn't resist ;)
Photos taken immediately it came off the covered truck from Adelaide.

The only problem with an e39 is that the hood opens up the wrong way! :p

and the easyly broken plastic bits around the seats, and the crappy pcv system, and the window switches that aren't in the console, and the crappy sound system, and the crappy ball joint design in the rear suspenson, and the crappy power steering pumps, and the crappy............. :D

the e39 is starting to grow on me....a 530 or even a 530d,would prefer a manual though.have seen a couple of 528 manuals, but not in the touring.
Are they really that bad Winfred?

Very nice!
Surprisingly, those wheels are forged. Ugly, but forged.

I like it very much, but I have always been a sucker for wagons; even before I had a kid.;-) I personally think the E39 is a nice looking car.

they are not a bad car just not a upgrade from a e34, especially in build quality/materials, i have no plans of buying one, probably will own another e34 before too long

You forgot to mention the crappy vanos problems (this one has double vanos), crappy water pumps (?), crappy lifetime auto gearbox fluid, ...etc etc
At least, thanks to you guys, I went in with my eyes open.
Must admit I do like the auto dimming rear vision mirror, the rear collision sensors, dipping off side mirror when reversing, ASC, all the airbags, the sporst seats etc etc
I suppose that any car made to a price with such complexity has to be a compromise.

Interestingly the dealer had replaced them with some ugly 18" replicas. I quickly convinced him to put the originals back on.
I actually like how they look !

Son #1 who came with me to collect it.
All E 39 cars in Oz are auto unless they are private imports.

The kids were devastated when I bought a touring, but I find wagons very practical.

it's alright. but it would look much better if you'd put a full M optic (e39m5 front and rear bumper, with skirts)

Having now driven it around for a couple of days, cannot get over who good the ventilation system and air conditioning is compared to the E 34.
Massive improvement. :D

**** i am fighting the urge to build a monster right now, we just got a complete 750il (actually a nice car just not worth spiffing up to sell) parts car and we have a nice looking 95 525 in that wonderful maroon metallic color....... but i am trying to get some other projects going/done, like adding 100-150 hp 250-350 foot pounds of torque to the truck, and get that damn m coupe suspension/brakes out of the corner on the e30, and maybe even the new schrick 280 cam i scored on a trade out of my tool box and into the head
Preach on, brother.

Has to do with water going down the plughole the wrong way ! :Dor being a banana republic... :) Nice score Zeuk, I'm very jealous. Sensible purchase given the times, practical given the touring, and rewarding given the manual/leather... I would put a set of big rims on for maximum happiness, but they would have to be forged OE M-Pars ot T-Stars... :) Nick

I'd take a Touring any day. Tourings are sexy. :)
Especially an Alpine/Black. What a great color combo!

What ? Stickers on a Bimmer ? Blasphemy ! LOL
Perhaps "Drug pusher inside" would be more appropriate.
BTW Greg, how long have you been hearing the voices ? :D

I've been hearing them for a long time now!
