View Full Version : Urgent: Need diameter (around) of stock muffler

I bought a new muffler and it sounded smaller than it is... it's 7" diameter but its a perfect round muffler. I eyed it up but it was raining so I said f- it. I did however slip it over my tailpipe sticking out that i have now and it was DRAMATICALLY quieter. I am really looking forward to having a normal sounding car.

wouldnt "around" be the circumference not the diameter, which one do you need?

Do you have a catalytic converter on the turbo?

Give me anything. I would say around except the stock muffler isnt round its an irregular shape.

No catalytic converter.

I take it that you're not worried about emissions inspections...? Or does PA not care?

Or most likely you know someone... NJ is the worst when it comes to inspections... they'll fail you for moisture in a headlamp!

Its roughly 32'' around and 10'' on each side. This is on the part after the bend (toward the rear of the car).

I am going to get a sound clip of the before and after.

I showed my girlfriend tonight how much more comfortable the new muffler will make the car and she said, "Oh my god it sounds like a normal car!"

Did my info help you out? Im planning on a magnaflow as well, but right now i just turn the music louder...

How do you get this fit? The stock muffler has two pipes in.

He has single exhaust for his single turbo.
