I received 4 in the mail from malaysia and I don't know how to stick the screwdriver in to take the handles off. I've seen links that Shogun has posted to Japanese sites to remove it that looks easy. But I don't want to hit the panel work inside or much up the lock mechanism. I'm trying pretty hard with a screwdriver pushing against it to remove it but it won't budge.

there is a little lever, you can see it with a flashlight. Hold the handle so it doesnt drop to the ground.

cool. I didn't use a flash light actually, I was going in blind. Thanks for the quick reply Alex.

what's the problem?
You are talking about japanese instructions which you do not like???
I think you are still having in your brain the japanese girl, for which I have to translate your lover letters :D
How about this in English

Instead of a screwdriver use a normal wrench, much easier and less damage.

its the other way thats a bit harder.I made a little wire hook to pull them back, but i need to reposition the handle slightly as the handle hits the surround and sticks up sometimes

Yeah thanks for the bmw4life link - I didn't unhook the metal bit with a screwdriver.

I've only tried the left hand side (passenger side) so far.
