Here is Q's Coat Hanger Trick (205 views)
Message: It's still hard to believe, even after doing it, but the Coat Hanger Trick Works !!
Dennis, if you are referring to the front seat headrests...then once you remove the back cover, peel back some of the leather from the tongs near the motor that should be mounted on the right side...remove the 2 screw that hold the motor (a right angle screwdriver makes this a lot easier)...then remove the screws on the bottom of the motor that secures the cable...pull the cable out. HERE'S THE QUICK TIP: take a 1/4" piece (straight) of metal coat hanger and place into the motor drive, then re-insert the cable. Test to make sure headrest is working then put everything back together. I know it sounds weird but it has worked for me and I did the procedure 2 years ago.
IMPORTANT TIP: make sure you don't use a too long piece of metal because then the cable will not engage the drive and the headrest still won't work. The "metal extension" serves to re-center the cable within the sheathing.

I did it like on Gale's page, 45 minutes and it was done.
We did a write up of that in Japanese, but maybe the pics help you

No idea if the coat hanger trick works also on the seat back. I did it as described above. Very easy.
But if you want to test it......
Remember, to losen the 2 bolts on the seat, you need this one

Alright guys, that was awesome. It took me only 45 minutes (that's after 45 minutes of finding the right tool in my storage locker) to fix it. I really have no clue mechanically, but with your great instructions, it's fixed.
I've only had my car for 2.5 weeks, and it feels great to know that some of this stuff can be taken care of relatively inexpensively.
Thank you!!!!!!!:D

I was able to pop off the switch buttons, unscrew the side panel, pull the plasctic button at the rear of the seat, and unbolt the seatbeat. The plastic button is located on the back of the seat, at the bottom rear of the seat near the door. I do have pic's if you need. I was careful in popping off the buttons, and with pulling the button out from the rear of the seat.
