Completely my fault. I feel like such an ass. Pulling into a parking lot and I didn't see the curb, nailed it hard. Scared the crap out of the kid she starts crying, I get out out and hear dripping, take a look underneath and I almost puked.
Anyway, the car is the way to the garage and now I'm searching for a pan. I'm so bummed out about this.
Does anyone have a lead on where I could find an oil pan?
Thanks.

No idea, but be glad you noticed it.
Or else you'd be buying a new engine instead of just a pan! :)

Keep in mind that the E34/M50 oil pan is highly sought after on the used parts market. It's the pan that is used to put an M50/S50 etc into the E30 body.
If you can find a used one, expect to pay ~$200-250 for it. You might be able to find a new one for just a bit more than that....give BMA a call and see what they can do for you.

I turned it in to the insurance. The bill was $700.00. A tad under 4 bills for the pan alone. The adjuster said it would take 3 hours to fix but it should have been booked at 5. My mechanic ate the two hours so I gave him some extra cash.
It's fixed and I'm happy once again. :) Had to drive a Dodge Neon for a few weeks then got a Dodge Charger for another week. They're both piles of crap.

I reall reading this a while back, thanks for the follow up. Its funny, $700 could buy you and engine if you look hard enough (maybe without the oil pan :D). For what it consists of, its a ton on $$, but its supply and demand.....
Glad you're back on the road,

Dave,
I'm going to pull the m50 out of this parts car that Jasen and I just got. With the oil pan, what to do you think would be a good price to set or to look for?

Sounds like fun :) Dependant on mileage which is, of course, difficult to prove, I've found they end up in the $800-$1000 U.S. range. Not sure if stuff is available or already spoken for, but what do you think about selling me the DME and maybe an alternator?
pm me if you're gonna sell the farm.
