Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to swap out my ECU with a stock one (I've got a BavAuto chip),and the dyno place wasn't going to let me swap the chip with a stock one since it would take too long, so I wasn't able to do my comparison as I wanted.

However, I made decent numbers- 180rwhp and 195rwtq, SAE corrected. This is better than I expected, I'm not sure what the driveline loss is but I'd guess the chip gave me about 5-7 peak hp. Martin showed up as well, I'll let him post his numbers but I will say that after seeing his car I'm going to get a MAF conversion. It's well worth the $600 price.

Thanks again for setting up the dyno day.

Numbers are very relative & we took a small sampling. Adjusting for correct air fuel ratio along the rev range, improved power everywhere. This was an increase from the proper tuning of the MAF 4 pot controller with the dyno meter & its wide band air fuel sensor. I was earlier rich at idle & lean at power, nowhere near ideal. I am very happy with the MAF, now that it has been properly tuned with the dyno's wide band air fuel sensor along the entire range of rpm's.

Buy Bruno's MAF, it is good.

It really was amazing how easy it was for you to tune the A/F mixture.

To really deflate our egos, there was a stock 2003 Cobra there before us making 396rwhp. That's right, stock on a car rated at 390 flywheel horsepower.

yeah, but its still a cobra. Do you know how high they have to turn the boost up on those s/c'ers to make them produce the HP #'s that ford claims?

so then,
180rwhp and 195rwtq, SAE corrected is that
wheel horsepower? i'd assume so since the 535i is rated 207hp from bmw
at teh crank

Yeah, 8psi. That's the stock level.

The lower curve is a previous run while dialing in the MAF. I must epoxy the front of the maf controller together, to seize the adjusters into place. No more fudgin' with that bastard!

The dyno operator pulled up the air/fuel ratio screen & helped dial the MAF. 5 or 6 runs was all it took to get the thing into a consistent, narrow mixture thoughout the rev range.

You picked up a ton of torque down low- must be close to 30ft-lbs at 2500 rpm. Did you feel a difference driving home?

Pretty impressive what the M30 puts out for nice, flat, low end torque when it's getting fed a good diet!

Martin, you should upload the modified curve with a laptop... Then you can set up your pots at zero and dowload it back...

Really, you can set a particular curve to be the baseline? That is damn cool.

Now I REALLY have to buy one. :)

I am getting my car on the dyno after the larger throttle body next month, I will make a custom curve for the MAF.
