Front suspension wobble

My 1992 535 has a pronounced wobble from the front right tire when braking between about 45 and 40 mph. Ball joint? Tie rod? Any thoughts? I'm no mechanic ... how much to fix ball joint, tie rod? Help!

Before someone nails you on this... read the FAQ.... but it is your thrust arms... replace them.

An out of balance tire or a bent rim/wheel could be causing it also. My '92 525 suffered a bent wheel from a pot hole a few months ago and now has a shimmy when accelerating through 45-50mph but much more pronounced when braking down through the same speed range. I plan to have it straightened when I get the money.
