Same happened to me the other day. There is one piece of highway where it is usually safe to open up and let her run, but yesterday I decided not to race the lowered Ford ranger with the "oh so cool" fart can installed on his muffler. (well I didn't race him into triple digits)

After only a mile or so I dropped back to the cruise setting of 72 (in 65) and let him fly by....

Not 2 miles later (he looked to be doing about 90, a state trooper going the opposite way come flying across the grass median at him with lights flashing and sirens on. I just coasted on by....

You should get a camera mount for your dash. I have one for when I take road trips.

Did I get it right that the drive was a tour of the neighborhood you grew up outside of Boston? I thought you grew up in the CA gold country.

Yes that was where i grew up... I won't fault you for missing what i said about the Gold Counrty.I lived there for a couple of years between 1991 and 1993 and lived most of my 20's in Santa Cruz and generally around California.
