Put this in "I should never work on cars" category.
The alternator went kapooie on our 1992 535i. We had it rebuilt and the install went fine. When we tried to start the car, however, it required quite a bit of gas pedal pumping, ran great over 1000rpms, but would not even begin to idle. Ran fine before the alternator incident. I've checked the alt. connections, battery charge, loose vaccuum hoses, replaced the air duct. Is there simple reset issue going on?
