I purchased new trim for the bottom of the doors because of the rust problem caused by the OEM .
To adequately clean the rust off, I had to remove the joint seal that covers the inner door and exterior door skin joint. There was rust under it. The new, and old trim pieces fit over that bead of joint seal. Has any one tried to replace the trim pieces without replacing the joint seal. The original is put on with a machine and there is no way to get it that exact. Or to put it another way will the stim fit properly and stay on if I do not have a joint seal that duplicates the original?
