Hello people, am in need of some help with my steering box. Anyone have any ideas where I can get it refurbished in the UK? Also, how do I get it all out for a refurb?

Any help will be much appreciated.............

Regards, BJ.

Might be a bit awkward to do on a 3.6. , but have a look at this:-

If you're in the UK AND you have an M5 you might want to try here.... http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=4

I replaced a power steering hose on my M5 and had real trouble getting the 22mm banjo bolt out due to a lack of clearance between the bolt and the headers, so I made up this tool:

It isn't pretty - but after hours of trying, lots of bruises, etc - it did the job straight up. Its just a cheap 22mm spanner - shortened and with an old busted 1/2" drive socket welded on top. Bingo! Banjo out! Fixed!

I guess this isn't an issue for LHD cars.

Great Homegrown tool.. I hope you don't mind, I submitted it to Toolmonger:

Let me know if you have any issue with having used your picture, etc.

Cheers,

No worries mate.

Maybe I should have added "don't weld up tools whilst in bare feet" - I, of course, stepped in a pool of slag - which stuck to the sole of my foot - Ouch.

LOL.. In that case I might have to submit that as a "Doh! of the Week" :D
