whats the ideal transmission fluid for a 1992 525i automatic

im replacing the trans on my m50 and replacing the fluid on a used trans i found. may i ask, what is the right trans fluid for this vehicle....

before i do this, any more parts i need?

my replacement trans is also from a 1992 525i, is it a direct fit?

Mobil 1 Dexron III synthetic ATF was used in my car about 23,000 miles ago along with a replacement filter/pan gasket set. No issues at all. 2nd time I serviced the trany since I have owned it.

my 4l30e seems to like citgo (blank)guard, i forget the name of it. shifts nicely and wants to upshift and downshift more when using it than with the bulk walmart stuff i generally have sitting around. it's citgo's dexronIIImercon stuff. any dexIII fluid will work.
