where is the cross over?

I am looking for the cross over for the speakers. I am working on a 1992 535i.

Built into the amp. Behind the driver side trunk carpeting.

damn. I am deleting the amps and putting in new ones. O well looks like i will just have to go with the boston acustic 3-way speaker system.

I think in the older amps it is possible to remove the booster amp part of the circuitry very easily. That way you can amp the low level signal with your own amp, and use BMW's crossover from what I understand.

that would be fantastic. now just how to do it. I will look into it tonight and see if I can come up with a solution. It looks as though the amp was removed from the rear which might make thing complicated but i might have a spare.
