Finally had the time to install the new OpPart front rotors, Mintex pads and Eibach springs. It took me about an hour to replace the rotors and pads which were causing a really bad brake shimmy coming down from about 65MPH. That is now all gone and I am very relived that they were not the thrust arms. She now feels brand new again.

As for the Eibach springs that is a different story. The fronts really took me awhile since I was doing everything without any power tools... manual labor so to speak. It was a good thing a buddy of mine came by that day and offered to help. Took us about 3.5 hours for the fronts and 1.5 for the rears. Decided to go with the stock Boge shocks for now to see if the ride it gives is what I am looking for. So far so good. A bit firmer that stock due to the springs but not too harsh due to the shocks. However if the shocks give way earlier than I expect then it will be time to a set of Sach's or Koni's.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. It seems to me that the rears did not lower as much. What do you guys think? Here are some "Before & After" pics. :)

You should be fine with Boge and Eibach.. I ran my 525 on that combo for the entire time I had the car.. except one time I install bilstein HD looking for better handling but the ride was so harsh that I just remove them at went back to Boge.

The Eibach spring should settle slightly more for even better drop.. it may go another 1/2inch or so in a couple months of use.

Mintex pad dust like crazy. I use Akebono or Axxis .PBR now.

MTV- Your car is gorgeous I also have a black 1995 525i with the same wheels. I think you car is lowered the perfect amount.
Is there a noticeable improvement in handling?

Perfect drop! The whole car should go down a little more once the setup settles. It takes about two weeks for everything to really get settled in.

SC David, Denton, Swenpro - Thanks.

Sam-Son - Thanks. I haven't really tried pushing it yet. Maybe I'll try after a few weeks after the suspension has settled.

fkong777 - Thanks for your input on the shocks and springs. As for the pads I guess I'll have to live with them for awhile. And I'll make sure to switch to Akebono or Axxis on the next brake pad replacement.

:)
