i use my bimmer as a daily driver and have a r32 skyline as my play thing she pushes 400 bhp at the hubs with nos and 319.3 without!

I have a 2000 Dodge Durango with a K&N FIPK and a Borla exhaust (it makes loud V8 sounds and has lots of torque!); plus a 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan that is stock except for a 350z intake tube.

Bimmer is on jackstand jail. My daily is a turbo awd GMC Syclone-black. Just sold my convertible RX-7:( .
Once I finish the 5'ver, it'll become my daily. Then I can do some mods to the Syclone truck.
My other projects in jakstand-jail are Datsun Z's, Jeep Scrambler, Datsun 2000 roadster w/3.0 turbo swap.:D

2.0 gts-t i got an rb25 (2.5) on an engine stand waiting for a 2.7 stroker kit to arrive from japan along with jun forged pistons and then ill be shopping for a huge ball bearing turbo as the engine will be abe to cope with 1.6+ bar boost (~1.1 max on standard internals), all in all she should be running 450 bhp before NOS:D :D

My touring is the daily driver. I have a 1991 Saab turbo convertible with a 5 speed for when it warm outside (now parked and under cover in my backyard making the neighbors sick with envy). And when I am really lucky I get to drive the wife's minivan!

My 525i is my current daily driver but when I get a few things (new catalyst, tie-rods, and control arms) done on the '87 535is 5sp (Dinan stage 3, 16" E39 wheels, E28 M5 brakes, Supersprint, etc), the 525i will go to my wife. No substitute for torque! I also have four BMW bikes, and about 16 other BMW cars/toys/antiques/junk. Oh yeah, one Toyota pickup I've had since I bought it new in 1984.

Some of the stickers got screwed up due to speed... and a bunch of drunks putting them on.

Currently building a 2.6L DOHC 16v engine for it, and building an upgraded 968 6 speed gearbox. I'm sure I forgot a few things though.

Then, the 5, another 944 Turbo with mild suspension mods, and a Jeep that I have some time/money into as a tow vehicle. And I just picked up a 944 NA as a parts car.

the 540i is the only car i drive everyday but i really want an E30 318is. i miss having a stick. the M42 in the 318iS is less maintainence and for a little 4 banger its pretty zippy. 144hp in a 2600lb car isnt a bad power to weight ratio.

2001 Land Rover Defender 90 (TD5 2.5 turbo diesel)

great fun to drive round narrow twisty lanes. Always get waves off other landy drivers. Half my sister's, and being 6'2 it would be a pain in the arse as a daily driver anyway.

Also have a 1989 London Taxi (black cab) which I inherited from my uncle six years ago. Again diesel, but I've never had more than 70mph out of her. She's coming up to 600,000 miles, so Nissan had the right idea when they built the engine.

Pretty comfortable ride compared to my other vehicle. Much quieter, very economic, and won't go fast enough to get me a ticket. All bonuses in my mind.

I drive a 1987 325is and an old chevy truck. I have two ongoing projects. One is a 6-point chromoly caged 1987 325is with an m106 waiting to be installed. Clearance issues have slowed that project down. My favorite is my 911sc coupe. I have it completely stripped down. It is getting an all steel 930 conversion and a repaint in Guards Red (Glasurit bc/cc). The engine (3.0) should be fully reassembled this coming week. Other goodies will include Weltmeister torsion bars and urethane bushings and 996 brakes. I have collected a few parts to turbocharge it late next year.

My E34 is having a break from road-duty at the moment, as I spend most of my money on this one...

1976 Toyota Corolla KE36 panelvan. Effectively a 2 door wagon, it only has 2 seats, the rest is a tray, not unlike a ute (or pick-up).

I bought it out of a paddock for $400, put in a reasonably fresh 1.3L 'K' engine, new heavy duty shocks, bushes balljoints, tie-rod ends, disc rotors, pads and shoes (still drum brakes in the back), wheel cylinders, extractors, 2in exhaust, and a set of Hotwire mags with new 205/60/13 tyres.

She also got longer lower control arms, and runs about 1.5 deg neg camber!! It handles pretty well, but being so light in the back it slides very, very easily!! (good fun in the rain tho!!)

But this is how it looks now. A collision with a big buck deer made a mess!! I still drive it (jumped on the bonnet to flatten it out, added a headlight, removed the driving lights), and it'll be having repairs in Jan 07. I will build another engine over the course of next year, which will be kinda warm-ish (New pistons, cam, carb, headwork, bigger valves). It'll still only be a 1.3L too!! I have a set of TE27 Levin wheel arch flares on the way too, so I can run wider wheels (plus it'll look cool with flares!!), it'll get more suspension mods, and bigger brakes, maybe a 5 speed, and a welded/locked diff!! Should be good fun!!

Isn't it funny how some people have a e34 as a daily runabout and others (like me) have the e34 as the high water mark in the collection. Just interesting to see peoples views

It's not shown very well but it is a Mitsubishi Verada Ei 3.6 FI V6 Front Wheel Drive (Yawn) funnily enough I can extract better fuel economy from the 540 than the wife can get from the Verada. Something she isn't really happy about. And yeah it's the Wifes car.....but she saw an e34 Touring in Diamondschwartz two weeks ago, now we are looking around he he he.... sad part is they are only 525's out here but they did also come as 5 Speed Manuals!!!...... I have a plan..........(evil grin)

Last but not least:

1993/4 888 Superbike (Strada) Chipped, Piped, Pankle Rods, SP Crank (not lightened) Gold Valved Suspension, SP Cast Iron full floating front brake rotors.
It's a September build date on a Ducati, this means nothing to most of you, but in Ducatisi parlance this is effectively a '94 build model. This is because the Italians have a National Holiday throughout August, once the Ducati Factory come back they begin building the following years bikes.

This in itself is insignificant but at the time Ducati were releasing the replacement for the 888 which was the Sexy 916 (made the 888 look like a barge in comparison) So this 888 is what is sometimes termed a 'parts bin special' as it is the end of the production run and you tend to get all sorts of goodies, at least from Ducati you used to.

And on a trip in '05 from Queensland down to Victoria (Phillip Island) to see the MotoGP. Cracker of a weekend!! Made a 4300Km round trip in 6 days, this was on the return trip through the Snowy mountains. There was still some snow where I took this shot, and bloody cold!!!

Some pretty varied tastes out there. Thats cool I think. I'm digging the engine swapped upgrades. Nothing wrong with loving a cars stylings but loathing its underpowered fate.

i don't know about "own," but i've been dreaming about--for the last couple of weeks--about buying a late 80's chevy caprice.. something about eating mc donalds hamburgers, and then throwing the balled up wrappers in the back seat floor area, and being able to take smokes in it without caring too much. this is strange, 'cause i neither eat meat, or smoke cigarettes. oh, and doing cop type shiat, like sitting outside someone's house, surveiling them for hours at a time. i wonder why the 88 cadillac coupe deville did not satiate my appetite for such things. i guess the teevee is rotting my brain out....

as fitting as that song is, i guess not. maybe im channeling andy sipowicz, 'cause all of the hipster doofus *******s are going it. about 2 or 3 years ago, i was in a coupe deville for a couple of months, until i totalled it.

seriously, though, i actually got somebody at work to give me a menthol cigarette so that i could try it out. and not a newport either, a 305 (as in, after you've smoked a 305, you'll need a .308 to the head). i dropped it in some bleach water, so i had to get another one. i smoked 1/2 of it and chucked it out. i feel compelled to try this mediocre everyman ******** right now, and i can't stop it.

i guess i want a car that i can drive up onto the curb, and nobody will think anything of it. something ironic, like the fact that this car's paint is still intact (and not candy or chameleon colored), it is a credit to its owners. i wants that heavy chevy for some reason.

ps...look where they had to get that video from...from canadians :p the emm-tee-vee has too much estrogen on the brain....
i'll stop now.

pps....great catch on that song, though. the production values and timbre of the flm, et cetera, really capture my mood right now.

the boss had a 90 300 twin turbo several years ago, automatic, what a pile of **** that thing was! may of been a cool car with a stick but one thing that stood out above all else, ****ing heavy, if i remember right it's listed at around 3800 or about 300 more then a e34

Well, autos and sports cars don't mix, so no argument there. They are heavy, but the TT curbs out at about 3500 stock, and the NA's were ~3300. That and the small brakes are their biggest weaknesses. I've addressed the brakes issue with the Stoptechs, and it handles quite well with all the suspension mods I've done.

Getting power out of them is nice though. The TT's were 300 flywheel stock, and with an intake, exhaust and a chip (~$1500 total), you can have over 320 rear wheel. I'm well over 360 rear wheel at this point, still on stock turbos, internals, and drive line.

All in all, it's quite a nice car.

I know they're BBS, similar to the "Style 5", but a 1-pc design, and a bigger lip. They're 17x8.5 with a 15mm offset at all 4 corners. Gonna have em refinished with a polished lip... THEN they'll look "really nice". ;)

Very cool. Buddy has a nice '70 MC. Nothing too crazy, Performer RPM carbs/intake, shorty headers, sway bars, etc. What's under the hood of yours?

502 C.I. from GM/Bowtie racing, Dart II heads fully-reworked and flowed, custom grind camshaft, 1150 Holley Dominator, all the MSD ingition bits and pieces I could get my hands on, and lots and lots of other parts. I also keep a steady supply of U-joints laying around because the engine likes to eat them. So far, the car has only twisted one driveshaft into a candy-cane and that was after a freakishly good launch with just a little wheelspin, instead of the uncontrollable "apply throttle, smoke tires, let off throttle, get traction, apply throttle, smoke tires, et-al...." act.

Someone asked about the MPG. If I am being nice, it gets about 5. I'll post some pics soon.

i have a 91 Acura Legend Its the best car i have ever owned (sorry bmw) if you have never owned one look into them next time your looking for a cheap car. The only thing i dont like about it is that there is hardly any performance parts.

Yep, sure is Hallett. Absolutely love the track. Been going there since 2001. That shot of yours looks like the off camber right kink just coming out of the stop sign, if i'm not mistaken. Easy to get squirrely there if you shift at the wrong time.

The 3's sure get around there nice. Really fun to play lead-follow with them. The great brakes and handling really come into play at that track more than mondo horsepower. As I'm sure you're aware, Hallett is murder on brakes.

This used to be my summer ride. 1977 Ford Bronco. I had 4 of those, now none. First time in 12 years I own only one car... I have the C43 in the garage but there's nothing to do on it, it's just being stored for the winter. It's kind of weird going in to the garage only to go to the beer fridge, nothing to wrench on in the winter time...

Great looking 911... I have been lurking around a 1984 911 targa, how difficult / expensive is it to maintain / own these cars? I've heard that they could be real money pits but a guy I knew had one and said they were easy to work on because it's old school mechanics... I'd like to know your opinion...

Thanks for the compliment Jeff. The 911s from the SC [3.0L Flat Six, starting in 1978] and 3.2 Carrera [1984-1988/89] were and still are relatively bulletproof. The cars really aren't that expensive to maintain provided that you get a well sorted car to begin with. PPIs are important because making a bad car right can cost you an arm and a leg. A great resource to look around for information on these cars is www.rennlist.com by the way.

I would count on spending between $15-$20K for a solid, well kept 911 of this vintage [SC or 3.2]. There were issues with the motors in the 2.7 Carreras of the mid 70s, and it is generally believed that those cars should be avoided for the most part. A properly maintained and excersized 911 will last for a loooooong time, and the visceral experience of driving these older 911s is truly unique.
