I have something similar to this, but it looks different. It's all red-reflective plastic, however it's not flat, the bit where the keyhole is for the boot is flush with the lights, and only indents back for the number plate area.
Have a look here:

I like how it looks on my car, but I guess it only looks good with dark coloured cars, and definitely with euroclears -- with the OEM ambers it looks crap IMO. But to each their own.
The part number of mine was: 82129401095 (I think, I'm putting trust into realoem.com)

They were also made for the aftermarket.
Here a sample for the E32.
For Japan and USA they were even different, because European licence plates are much longer.
Very difficult to find now in Japan, this one starts with 100 $

I saw the other thread about the M5 filler, I have to say it looks a whole lot better than this one.

This won't work well, ebcause the main difference is how it fits, and it has no indent in the middle which means you will have to have either a homemade triangular-type spacer thing, or big, long bolts.
lol...

I got it second hand for 50 bucks off a local euro car forum member. Don't know if it was a good price or not, and have no idea if you can get them new and for how much they go for.

So is the boot lid lock. I would say the picture has been flipped horizontally.
