Camber/Caster Plates for 540im

Hey guys, I've got a 540im and I'd like a little more negative camber for the front. Is there a kit out there that allows you to adjust camber and caster independantly (without having to adjust it on an alignment rack ;) ?

I've heard bad things about the K-Mac kits, and know that ground control's kit doesn't work with a stock setup (like mine).

What is the best adjustable kit? What's the best non-adjustable plate to get? And does the Ireland E30 kit work on an E34?

Well, considering I'm chewing the outsides of my tires under hard cornering with high tire pressures...I'm thinking I do.

usd$102 gives you Ireland Engineering fixed camber plates. There are a few members here running them.

Kumho ecsta mx's 245/45/17 up front 40-42 cold

235/45/17 rear 36-38 cold

Why are so many people against the use of camber plates. I have an M3 with a full coilover setup and adjustable front and rear camber. The coilovers were nice, but holy sh@# what a difference the camber made. I know an M3 is different than an E34, but the princables of it are the same. If your into turns and tracks then besides tires, the alignment is the most important thing to do with handleing. Even if there is a stock adjustment for camber it probably isnt enough for what he is doing. Im running -3.5 in the front and -2.5 in the rear on the street. I know its excessive, but I work next to a porsche tires so free good tires are easy to come by, and boy is it fun to scare the crap out of people in a turn.

Oh, sorry I can't answer your question, but Ive heard ireland engineering makes quality stuff, if they make a kit for the E34. If you do get a camber plate that is adjustable you need to get it on the alignment rack at least once so You can mark off were differenct setting are. I have a -3.5 mark and a factory mark, but I never run it at the factory mark.

I'm looking at the ireland engineering adjustable plates...there's the:

Camber Plate- adjustable street- E28, E24, E34
and the
Camber Plates- racing E28, E24, E34

It says that the racing plates are for 2.5" ID springs and coil overs...So I'm assuming that those wouldn't work with the stock suspension?

Also, is the adjustable street camber plate a k-mac unit?
