I ptu the Jim Conforti chip in my 91 535i auto and love it. I also know alot of those on this site realy like and support the EAT chip. I researched for a LOOOOONG time and decided on the JC chip.

I've had both and I think Mark's E.A.T. chip is better. Not by much but enought to make it the preferred choice.

I am currently using an EAT chip after having a Superchip installed for about 18 months.
I find the EAT is a lot smoother through the rev range developing good power right up to 6800. (Apparently there is a 6000 rpm version as well). I find it gives usefull power for city driving and highway runs.
I found the Superchip was quite sluggish under 3000, but then brought a good power increase in after that, so you felt like it was developing a lot of power, where now I'm skeptical it was just retarding up to 3000. If you are a regular track user (and high rev at that (5000-7000) then you might want to keep looking, otherwise I can recomend the EAT for daily driving.

I think Mark will do any one of several rev limits. Mine is around 6.8K. I don't take it that high often, but the pull between 6.25K and 6.8K is long and strong!

On a mechanically stock (and aging) motor, why raise the rev limit? Other than being able to say "My car revs to 7000rpm" that is. Power drops off dramatically at higher rpms, even with the chip.

Your stock rev. limit is 6250 rpm. If you have an auto, the stock rev. limit is fine but if you have a 5-speed you may have a bit more fun with one of the chips with a higher limit.
