Sorry to be a post whore tonight, but it's coming down to the wire before the car goes in for paint. Just got the 540 ducts and got a new idea. How do you guys think it would look if he ducts were mounted below the "lip" instead of molded into it?
Example:

IMO i think you would have ahrd time keeping them on. I also was wondering if you had to remove that center piece on the bumper to mount a euro plate. I havea euro plate but it doesnt fit quite flush.

Yeah, it's a seperate piece, different from the U.S. one. I just bought the piece from the dealer today.

they look just like my car did 2-3 years ago if you add a extra piece from a broken bumper to fill the gap between them they look a little better, quite strong too, i grounded mine many times including a couple times on mud roads hard enough to cram the duct full of mud

ps i can't remember what center caps i was running on the dishes but it wasn't the factory cap, i think i modded a 740il e32 cap, i skimmed a few thousandths off the outer edge to get them to fit in the recess

If you are gonna do it, do it properly!! Make it look stock... ie don;t have them hanging below the bumper like some kinda afterthought!! It looks horrible!!

Thanks Winfred! Not sure what to do now. I think the ducts look great underneath the bumper. Sterlingsilber metallic ftw pretty much though. :p

they are located where they are for a reason. the duct entrance is only a part of the equation. do you have the rest of the tubing? you will find that it fits comfortably if u put it where it was meant to go!
