when I asked for a transmission vent cap for my 89 535iA ZF 4HP 22/24. They said that you only get those when you buy a new tranny. WTF?
Do you guys have a part number for this little plastic vent? I broke mine while cleaning it. Thanks.
Take care,
Dan

True but I had to get a shaft seal so I figured I'd get the vent too, silly me.

Okay, how come I can't see Bill R's reply? I see his name with an attachment, but I can't access the message.
Take care,

There is a tiny line after his name in the message; click on it. He has the part number in the message.

He was thinking about the last customer and all the other customers this week he ripped off. you should go in and say do you have this part no. oh yeah? then tell him you'll get it from BMA and laugh in his face.

That part doesn't look like the part that I took out. The part is a beige coloured cylindrical piece about an inch long with a little cap on top. It goes in this hole .... (I borrowed this pic from a member)

Thanks you guys, you were right. Went to the dealer armed with part number in hand and got what I needed. The guy wanted to know how/where I got the part number fom, I just laughed and left :p
Take care,
Dan

DanThey're not called stealers for nothing... first they steal your sense, then they steal your wallet. After they have that, they take other things for the fun of it... part numbers may seem like silly things to steal, but Stealers are so twisted... they simply have no perspective left with which to balance their sick humour... :| Nick
