OT: Is it safe to charge a car battery inside ?

I have it on a trickle charger on my kitchen counter.Is this producing a tastey yet invisible mix of lead and sulfuric acid gasses?

a trickle charger probably won't make it gas too bad but on a porch or garage would be better, i beleave they put off hydrogen sulfide (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen_sulfide) when charged and how hard it's charged dictates the volume

beard is more blond then red (not sure why it's so red in the pic) and if i am in enough summer sun the front part almost turns white
