535 Economy/Manual mode slider

Anyone ever disassemble this switch/component? Mine is so freaking gungy from the previous owner, I have to lean into it to slide the damn thing.

I've picked out all the gunk I can reach from the outside with toothpicks, business cards and profuse profanity.

Also, can you lube this thing or will that foul up the electronics?

Don't ever think just cause it was driven by a nice, little old lady that it's clean...

The one on my old 535 required a cleaning before it worked properly. It's been so long ago, I don't remember taking it all apart, but it was removed and sprayed down so the switch operated right. Be careful with contact cleaner, it will remove the finish from the switch. Work it with WD-40, it should be ok.

mine worked last summer and retired in the fall, tried a new switch and it still doesnt work. just another un-needed option as far as I am concerned, less chance for me to beat the hell out of the transmission I guess.
