Bavauto Automatic Shift knob

For Christmas I received an automatic shift knob from Bavauto. Not having the 3mm allen wrench until yesturday prevented me from installing it, but once I got the old knob off and started assembly with the new one I found that the nylon shaft does not fit correctly in the handle. The problem is that the steel pin inside the knob is too short and will not hold the nylon shaft and therefore will not work. I was curious to know if anyone else has purchased one of these knobs from Bavauto and if they have had similar problems. Is there a replacement nylon shaft that I need to buy?

Any suggestions you have are greatly appreciated,

I have the burlwood/chrome BavAuto knob but its for a manual car, all I had to do was pound it down hard once and it stuck..

I have a knob from them but I can't use it because the 3mm bolt in the old one (currently in use) is completely stripped. I'm stuck with a nasty cracked one.

If you get a chance could you possibly take a look at your shiftknob and see how far the steel pin sticks out? In my new one the pin barely sticks into the cylinder portion of the knob.

Ok, so I just talked to a rep at BavAuto and was told that their last shipment of these knobs were not manufactured correctly and the steel pin was inserted into the blackpiece too far(the thing you pull up on). So, a quick fix for this is to take a pair of needle nose pliers and pull the pin out so that the nylon rod will stay on.
