ot:question about price of keys

A key for 87 325is cost 10x the price of a key for a 94 525i, now the one key for the 3 did have the little flashlight on it. why is there a big difference in price

I paid about $100 for a EWSII key for a 95 525 from the dealer. They needed the VIN and my registration in order to get the key from Germany.

How much did your 525 key cost?
