BLEEEECH!! @ seats

Does the airbag work anymore after that conversion?
Anyone have the link to the conversion conversations we had, I'm interested in what years that will work on...

Those look comfy. I have Sparco Evos in my 318, and they don't allow you to move around AT ALL... not very comfortable. Of course, it's on coilovers, etc, so it's not really intended for comfy street cruisin...

M5 seats in my E34 are just right. A bit of bolster, but nothing uncomfortable.

What seat mounts you used? How low they are?

I made my own bracket from hardened square stock. It was more of a pain in the ass than I would like to admit.

I am also looking into a coilover setup in my car. I love my recaros!

I could only find zeemax Iwas thinking of using the front and rear fenders from that and the side skirts but I really hate the front and rear bumpers. maybe if they got rid of the large vent in the rear that would be okay but the front bumper is an abomination. http://www.zeemax.com/7e34wb.htm

yea i've liked that kit for a long time and at one point considered buying it but i think they want too much cash. i also spoke with their north american install guy (with whom they've since cut ties) and he went into a lot of bullshxt detail about how it takes 3 months to put the kit on etc.. kind of made me think they might be a bunch of shady dudes to deal with.

the other thing that doesn't make sense to me is that the rear quarter panels are actually one seemless piece with the roof .. so how the hell do they ship this too you? and why is no mention of roof made in the parts list? maybe there is a little seam i am not seeing and you only get rear quarters.. but when i emailed them with this question i got no response.

on the kit for the e31 they mention that to flare the fenders you have to find your own body shop that will flare them for you and that all that's supplied are bumpers and side skirts .. i think that's probably true of the e34 one as well. i also kinda wonder how the rear passenger door handles are finished.. do you have to mod anything? etc ..

i mean outside of that i think it's by far the best looking widebody out there.. although like you i am not totally sold on the front end

here's what they say for the e31:

"All four wings are hand made from steel on site by your own bodyshop to fit the wide bumpers, therefore each car is unique, and you can have the wings styled to your personal requirements."

... in the e34 version they do mention quarters but again how do they integrate with c-pillar/roof?

and you would think for such an expensive kit they would have updated the site.. it's been the same useless one for 3 years

I know you think if im going to spend 2-3k on the materials alone they would put more info on the site. I have been talking with a local shop that said the could fabricate a kit but that worries me.

well the metalwork is not really that difficult.. but the back quarters are gonna be the tough part cuz of the roof thing and of course the door handles too, but who knows it might be a simple relocation.

i'd really like to see what conclusion you come to.. keep us posted :)

you know.. every body kit i look at is nice but there is nothing out there that really matches the dated look of the front headlights. it's too bad nobody has engineered an enclosed type that looks a bit more contemporary but still maintains a somewhat original/stock look. i got those headlight covers but they look stupid

The seats that were in the car were terrible. one was bent in half the and the other one was cracked to hell. These seats were a definite upgrade! The car will be clean and I am not going to make it like a ricer. The e46 wheels will fit but love the look of the a good wide body kit I thought about just going with larger flares.

Nice butt grabers, but call me old fashioned they look kinda out of place on a four seater.

I'm use to them being in two seater full on MACHINES, roll cages, 5 point harness etc.

I tend to notice that.

As far as the seats being out of place they won't be after the roll bar is in place and my car is putting out plenty of power. I am making a very powerful engine and intend to see the coupes in my rear view mirror.

No worries - coupes are not hard to leave in the tail light section :)

Jon, what kind of clutch did you use and have you gotten a chance to take your car to the track or on the dyno?

Jon K

Jon - am running the ClutchNet "stage 5" clutch which is 6 puck ceramic metallic with 2x Racing pressure plate. No dyno or track time - its winter here!
