I installed a Whiteline 22mm rear adjustable swaybar (part number BBR12XZ) yesterday. It took me two hours to install using hand tools. I lowered the exhaust using a bottle jack. The bar comes with 2 urethane bushes, urethane swaybar links, 4 washers, (2 big, 2 small) and 2 bolts and nuts to connect to the swaybar link to the swaybar. I had to use a difference (longer) bolt and nut to support the bush bracket.

The swaybar didn’t line up exactly, one side was about 4mm off, I still managed to bolt everything up though are there are no clearance issues. I still have to contact the manufacturer too see where the washers go. I took is for a spin through the royal national park and I’ve got more grip at the rear now. I’ll post some pictures soon.

22mm refers to the thickness, correct?

What did you pay for the bar?

Yeah, 22mm is the thickness. You can order from their website and the will it to you. I paid aud$285 delivered.

Not to go too much off topic but how do you like their 27mm bar? I have the RD setup (27mm up front) and I wish it was a little thicker as there is more body roll than I'd want.

the whiteline is adjustable from 26 to 30mm.... and 30mm is MUCH stiffer than 27mm. 50% stiffer in fact. if the whiteline is too weak at 27, it should be perfect at 28.

im currently running it at 26 with a 20mm mtech rear and the balance seems perfect.

I found the hardest setting to be too hard also with too much understeer also. I will put it back to hard later to see how she goes. When you go crazy into a corner do you get oversteer under throttle?

yeah, just a bit of understeer if i dont use enough throttle. the tires im running have significantly less grip if there is any sort of sand or dust or water on the road, so i cant comment on how the torsional balance of 26/20 would match with your tires.

i also drive with a full tank of gas but have the rear seats out, spare tire out, and AC out. not sure on the weight distribution but the car is quite a bit ligher than stock. that helps a lot.

massive oversteer at 10mph at quarter throttle is... wierd. welcome to winter!

there is a corner with a 25mph sign on it, and i generally take it at 55 now without sqealing the tires. with the stock rear bar and only the 26 front setting i couldnt take it at 50 safely. its an uphill turning right, downhill turning left, and as such i accelerate through the turn on the downhill, and keep the velocity constant on the uphill, leaving both at 55 before either braking (for the stop sign 100ft away) or coasting back to the speed limit.

with 17x8" light alloys and performance tires i should be able to take it at 65-70 with a high margin of safety. dropping the swaybars to stock... probably still at about 50 before it feels sketchy.

The grip at the rear of the car is significantly greater than with the little 15mm swaybar. In both the wet and the dry the car still understeers more than oversteers, but I haven't lost the rear end of the car yet. It feels better balanced than before. First or second time I took the car out to test the new bar, the center bearing now needs replacing. I'm getting a drive shaft vibration feeling just above 2000rpms.
