I have searched high and low to find out if anyone on this forum has done this modification and couldn't find any good leads. M3 seats are all over the place compared to good e34 sport seats. Is this swap possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The floor pans in the E36 are greatly different than those in the E34. Ours are different heights left to right and theirs are not. You'd have to make some funky brackets.

Anything's possible, but it would require custom brackets -- E32/E34 cars use a unique hook and bolt mounting system. And if going with electric seats, a bit of wiring.
Not impossible, though. Hint: find a set of E46 M3 Coupe seats, they have adjustable BACK cushion side bolsters. Convertibles DON'T have that feature. KMS did this swap on Rob Levinson's 750:

The only thing close i've seen is a e36 vader seat in a e30. But im sure you cn make an adaptor. The wiring may be a different story. You just have to get power to the seat and it should be good.

I've been wanting to do this as well. As soon as I find a good deal on a set half way local Im going to do it. I've got access to a welder and some cutting tools, Im sure I can figure it out.
You'll have have to sit there and figure out how to make some good brakets that will put the seat at the right height.
