anyone have or seen a link that shows you how to make your own brake bleeder with a garden sprayer? im too cheap to spend the $50 on the motiv brake bleeder.

an extra brake reservoir cap to fit the garden sprayer to.

take the cap to the hardware store, grab a small cheap sprayer, head on over to the plumbing section and start matching up the fittings.

Not quite as easy as I detailed, but if you like Legos you'll get the idea.

Here's the link you're looking for:

The problem is I recall someone making one and it ended up costing about $40 or about the same price as a motive on sale. Good Luck!

The only problems I've heard about these, is that when pumping the sprayer unit, it will infuse tiny air bubbles into the fluid, as well as moisture when pumping it up in humid areas.

i guess ill just buy the real thign instead. should i get another litre of brake fluid of will 1 do the trick for an entire flush? my fluid is pretty grungy. I duno if the PO ever changed it. Just like my air filter had a BMW roundel on it and was filthy.

I built one and drilled and tapped the tank and installed a gauge and a tire schrader valve so it could be pressurized or de-pressurized if needed without removing the top of the tank. The gauge helps so that the system isn't overpressurized. The brakes bleed best at about 15-18 psi. Careful with the rubber grommets at the bottom of the fluid reservoir where it mates to the master cylinder, old ones will start leaking fluid. You must keep an eye on the fluid level in the reservoir and not let it get too low. It doesn't take that much fluid to do a flush, think about the size of the line.

Also, make sure you get a good seal where the fitting goes through the brake resevoir cap. I did not on my first try. It worked but used a quart of fluid.
