Hi everyone I am new to BMW and i have just purchased a 1993 525i .I need to get to the battery and it is under the rear seat .How do you get the rear seat cushion up?:)

Thank it worked.Please use the correct battery! It must have a proper vent that can be connected to you car's vent tube. The vent in an after-market battery must not get pinched by the seat or the battery hold-down bracket. You can use a larger battery than the original (you'll see the extra room) and they seldom cost more, but make sure whatever type you use is a recessed-terminal (European-style) battery so the seat doesn't contact or short the terminals. Lots of places will sell you a non-vented battery or not hook up the vent. Make sure it's hooked up and working properly.

Autozone Duralast 49DL battery (with vent kit) is an excellent/popular choice and it is made by Johnson controls. That is if/when you need a new battery. It costs about $75 US
Also you may want to search archives to check for other battery related info.
