High milage BMW what needs to be checked?

I have recently purchased a 91 BMW 525i with DOHC engine in it. It has about 280000km on it. I was wondering if their is any critical components that need to be checked. ie. timing chain, head gasket, oil pump exc. it runs VERY strong so i imagine the internals are in tip top shape. any ideas?

I'm guessing besides the usual maintenance items like sparkplugs, fluids, etc. you could take a look at

One of the weakest points on the M50 engine is the cooling system... I'd have a nosey and make sure it's all in good nick.
