How to adjust idle?

I have a 89 535i I just picked up and it seems to idle high. How do you adjust it?

There is a system fault that should be repaired. One component is ICV, idele control valve.

do a tune up and check for vacuum leaks, then clean the throttle body and idle control valve with carb cleaner, if still not correct check out the tps for proper adjustment, making sure that it's closing and making connection (which turns on the idle circuit)
