18x8 e38's w/245/50/18 on stock 34?

I've read the faq, but am unsure if these will fit. It looks like maybe not. 18x8 with 24mm offset and 245/50R18's.

Can get a couple different sets locally for about $450 and would be a huge upgrade to what I have.

If not I found a set of e38 16" basket weave's for a couple hundred bucks that I'm sure would fit. 235 60 16.

The tires on all the sets are in good shape. When it comes time for replacement I would get a size with a closer diameter to stock.

I attached a pic of each. Which would you choose?

I like my AC Schnitzer Type III's (18's). I like the look of the bigger wheels on my lowered car.

I don't particularly like my snow rims (20 spoke) but they came cheap. With the car lowered, they make the whole rig look old and worn out. Somehow, the Schnitzers make it look fast, go figure.;)

I am not a fan of basket weaves. Why? Other than the huge pain in the buttocks they are to clean, I just don't like the look.

I got offered a set of multivane wheels (15", I think) the other day while getting a slow leak fixed at the local tire shop. They looked interesting as I have not seen these before. Are they any kind of rare? They look more dignified than the basket weaves to me.

Those are my favorite of the 3 also.

My car has 20 spokes on it right now, but one is bent so the spare is on. Talk about old and worn out... Once I get a set I'll be offering the 3 existing rims for free as spares to whoever wants them.

No way those will fit. I have a set of 18x8.5, 13mm offset wheels with the same size tire. Can't even get them bolted on in the front due to interference with the strut tower. 24mm offset will only be worse.

Those are the BMW M Parallel (Styling 37 M).These are an e34 1995 M5 specific fit, and the parts # ‘s from BMW are the following:

Front: 36 11 2 227 931 (8X18) 20mm offset "

Maybe it's really -24mm? They are 7 series rims.

Doesn't matter. I'm cheaping out and going with the 16x8's.

The same guy has some 5 series wheels. $400-$500 with tires. All good shape. The nice thing about his shop is it's local. I've been searching the various local classifieds and as soon as I bought a BMW all the deals disappeared. I don't want to spend more than $500.

I ended up with a set of 17's from an 06 525i. Beautiful almost perfect. Just one small nick on the lip of one. Tires are near new.

They are on the car, perfect fit with some room to spare. It close to the strut, but still comfortable. 235's probably wouldn't work. Compared to the old 225 60 r 15's they are about the same size, just a hair taller and a tad wider tread.

I totally see what you mean now about the other rims. If these are close the others wouldn't work. A few mm's makes a big difference.

To the guys with those E60 wheels: I rather like those as a nice, OEM+ mod. Updates the car a bit, and would look nice with a drop.
