Wow is all I can say. I just upgraded my alternator from a remanufactured 80amp unit with a used 140 amp... like night and day.
My 80 amp used to whine and jsut seemed underpowered. The 140 is silent and my idle is much smoother..
Best upgrade I have done yet.. :D

Now I'm interested. Mine is dying, and my lights everywhere are a little 'fadey' sometimes. especially right when you press the gas, then they get bright lol... POS.
How much did this cost you?
:) Changing fron 80 amp to 140 amp, cool, but what do you have to do to change amperage? Bentley says NO, but I gotta do something ASAP. Would like to bumu up to 140amps , but what's the process in incressing amps?

Change from the 80 watt alternator to an 140 watt alternator. No other changes needed.
DaveVoorhis, You mean all I gotta do is turne a few bolts and swap alt's then it will be done. Thanks ror info.

I got a used one locally for $80. Figured that was a pretty good deal.
