7 year pro experience as an installer/owner. Could help with many troubleshooting problems in a forum like that.

no.
INstall questions are almost always by model, and there are other forums out there that already have the generic BMW Car A?V forum, product recommendation thing going on.
And also many that serve the novice or PnP audio people. And then there is the SQ contingent. They have their own forums.

i say yes
alot of other forums have 90% BS in their threads, Bimmer.info is always 90% info and thats how i like it.
If we get an A/V section there will be info from the pro's not that 16 year old kid with his"1000" watt subs.

how you gonna make that happen???
every 16 year old kid with alpine, kicker, audiobahn etc thinks they ARE a pro. :D

yea true...
Hopefully intimidation?
I dunno, guess it might have to be one of those "we'll just have to see what happens" sort of things. I just get this vibe that there is alot more maturity on this forum, so we wont see that much of the nopi crowd here.

I say no to a forum, but yes to a general sticky thread which pertains to either working with or upgrading your factory deck and speakers and optionally adding a subwoofer+amp. Meaning you have a list of: 1) speakers people have used to replace their factory speakers in factory locations. 2) Decks to replace the factory deck in the factory location. 3) Wires to replace factory wires.
It's a BMW! Upgrade the system tastefully for your own listening pleasure inside of your own cabin space and please proceed to tell us about it so we can do the same or similar. Personally, I don't want to hear about how you can feel the bass from across a Walmart parking lot.

maybe more will if they are opened up to new ideas. If i had the funds, i would have started on mine my now.
Where did you get your parts Jon? Newegg.com has always been a great source for me.
