Replacement camshafts

I hope someone will know the answer to this question.

I have a E34 525i and i have a noise coming from one of my rockers.
I also have a spare E34 520i which is also 6 Cylinder. Is the camshaft
from the 520i the same as the 525i ?

m20 sohc? if so it should fit but i doubt it will have the same performance, look at the number of bearing surfaces on the cam, a m20 I motor with the big intake ports will use all 7 towers in the head as a bearing surface, id bet the 2.0 motor uses the E head casting with the small intake ports, externally the I & E look the same but the E only uses 5 out 7 cam towers as a bearing surface, there may be extra oiling holes that may need to be drilled/plugged
