Just thought we would let you know that we got a Oct/90 535I auto a couple of weeks ago.
25,000 km's totally original and full service history- near new!!!
We live 400k'ms from the nearest major city of Adelaide Australia, so she will do many country miles.
A great web site and we are looking forward to many hours of e34 fun.

About the same as a new base model Toyota Corolla.
Top $ yes, but around 15% of equivalent new BM and not as much depreciation.
Just have to hope it doesn't detinate or the wife will not be happy.

how bad...prolly not bad in australia but if its been sitting for a long time, you can get condensation in places you dont want to think about ,and we all know that short trips are bad.....IMHO cars with very low mileages can be just as bad as cars with extremely high mileages.....BUT if it can be shown its been well looked after in its life its all good!

Not to curse the lucky dog, but what could 17 years of sitting with the same coolant do to the block and heads? Or for that matter, 17 years of short trips and infrequent oil changes?
I think the OP made great find and wish them the best.

Agree- no travel is bad travel.
Research from this site told me what to look for.
From records it has had regular travel and engine oils and coolant changed every couple of years. I don't think it ever left town.
We have just gone through and change every lubricant.
Temp up here ranges from 20 in winter to 42 in summer-minimal humidity- rust is not a problem.
Will post pictures when we work out how to do it.
Congratulations. Very lucky find indeed.
Servicing of all the rubber items hoses belts and such would be a good idea if the odlies are still there.

Yes and those plastic parts that tend to become brittle over the years... Oh stuff it, I'm just jealous!
