I mistakenly left off the rubber dust caps when I replaced my rear shocks. Anyone have any experience as to how much I will regret this now or later? I'm sure I'll have the back seat off in another year or two...

the shocks will wear out faster without the cylindrical black plastic dust cover.it is there to ensure the chrome rod is free from dirt, which,if not fitted, will eventually damage the seals inside.

i think he's talking bout the rubber tit that goes over the nut on the top of the shock inside of the car, i almost never bother with it, it usually dies on removal in a e32/34 anyway, i do em without pulling the seat (pita but faster)
