How do I check what type of springs I have and if the springs are still good? My suspension has been jiggy for about 2000 miles and I want to overhaul the whole suspension. The car has 135k miles on it.

Jiggy is a very generic term... Usually tires is one. Upper control arm is second to cause this... and then there is lower control arm (the bushings will wear out)... and probably the most important one is the sway bar links.
Spring is never the reason for out of control thing...

I had all 4 shocks replaced at about 130,000 miles (even though my car had just passed its annual inspection with no problems). The improvement in handling was night and day - a lot less vague and "jiggy".

Agreed... I changed my shocks at about 105,000 miles... The replacement that was on the car was zero... totally dead. Bilstein last forever in my experience.
