Supercharger Kit for 1995 525i? M52 VANOS, I'm pretty sure.

Everything I find is for 1997 and up E39s, rrrrrgh.

I love this car, just want a little more "off the line" point and shoot.

Oh, and I'm pretty lazy, so I want something pre-fabbed that I can install myself under a shade tree with hand tools. :) Don't ask for much, do I?

You have an M50TU not an M52. As far a getting more power off of the line, the only way you'll gain that is with more displacement or a twin screw supercharger. 99% of s/c kits are CF (centrifugal) and require higher engine RPM to spool the supercharger to make boost. These types of blowers are the Vortech,Rotrex,ASA type blowers. You make your peak boost pressure at max engine RPM and boost builds linearly, however most blowers do not start making positive manifold pressure until about 3,000 rpm.

A twin screw supercharger functions differently and has a much broader torque band, but they're also $8,000+ in kit form.

Any '95 325 supercharger kit will work on your car with only minor adjustment for piping and such.

Did you EAT chip it? Not the same as as super or turbo, but will help off the line a bit.

I wouldn't do a new car. Cams and a good software tune will do you well.

swap in an s50 and be done with it. Or just do what I did and get a powerdyne kit off an e36 325i and modified it to fit my 93 525i. Im at about 300 bhp now at about 7psi with meth injection. as long as you stay in the power band theres always pleanty of power.

ProZak, I've got an e36 m3 (s52) with Dynan's vortech supacharger. It is pretty great. There's plenty of grunt right off the line, &it does build up to redline.
