whats your running voltage?
sounds like the igniter is working but the ballast is not.
what brand HID?
sounds like the igniter is working but the ballast is not
+1
Ballast may be out, or MAYBE a voltage problem. It takes quite a kick to get HID running.
If they flicker and the salts in the bulbs don't look yellow/burnt, then your ballast is most likely at fault.
Check the voltage at the OEM connector (NOT AFTER THE BALLAST!) Is it stable at 12.5v+?
Do BOTH bulbs flicker? Does it ignite if directly wired to the battery/relay?

Chances are you popped the fuses. Screw relays. Plug the headlight connectors right in and up the fuses. I have had success with this for years now on 2 cars.

Agreed... you popped the fuses... up them to 15A each.

thanks guys ill try and switch out the fuses tonight. hopefully they work. if they do ill post up some pics
Doh. You mean they do it EVERYTIME you try and turn it on? If so, the fuses are FINE... check the bulb and suspect the ballast (see my post up there). If they only flickered ONCE and nothing happens now when you flip the switch, then it's the fuses.

I bought a set of ebay that did the same thing, it turned out to be the ballasts. The seller sent me some new ballasts, and they haven't missed a beat since.

Stock bulb only draws like 4.6A on battery or about 3.6A when car is running. HID ballast can draw up to 14A on startup and then only draw 2.5A when car is running or 2.8A on battery for the rest of time until shut off.
Newer ballast draws less... I think around 10A to fire up, yet this is still above 7.5A stock fuse.
I am running 15A fuses on my car since I have the early one... 2001 ballast. As far as wires are concerned? No problem... the wire is thick enough for 15A.

I would... at least to 10A... go 15A to be safe. You know... if it pops at night and you got no spare fuses, what are you gonna do? Drive with high beams?

I need HID's. You're in the Bay Area, right? Was this a private seller, or a vendor of sorts?
