My ASC light will not turn off no matter how many times i press the button. I recently put larger wheels on the car but this should have no effect. The car will not hift up unless i have the throttle wide open and it will not downshift when i let off the pedal. This problem never existed until I replaced my knock sensors and waterpump. If anyone has any siggestions i'd love to hear them.

if the light is on solid it means the traction control is DISABLED.
sounds like your transmission is stuck in EXTREME sports mode, where it wont shift till redline! (... or something, eh)
you might have taken out some important electrical something in the engine bay, like the ABS contol unit (considering you havent got a trans prog code yet)
i would start with removing and repluging all the electronic modules in the E-box, and doing the same with the ABS relay. other than that, no clue, good luck!

hehehe i love how BillionPa said EXTREME sport mode:D anyway check the wirings in your engine bay you might have forgotten to put something back or spliced a wire...If you cant find anything, use a code tool pull out the codes or stomp test if it works for you

where is the e-box
where is the e-box
located at the right rear corner of the engine bay (passenger side for LHD cars).

This would be my guess as well. I don't know what would cause the shifting problems, but there are a bunch of wires that you removed to get at the water pump and the knock sensors removing the intake. Double check that everything is connected and connected correctly.
I can't imagine that what you did with the water pump or knock sensors would have impact on anything in the E-box.

did you accidentally unplug the harness to the ASC throttle control unit under the brake booster?

Does your cruise control work? There are 2 throttle cables... one for da gas pedal and the 2nd for the cruise & ASC.... if that 2nd one is not connected your ASC light will do this.... did someone mention fuses and did you check that?

I had the cable disconnected before. I reconnected it and the light is still on.
