e46 differentials on e34?

I highly doubt it the mounting is way different ...if anything could only swap internals

I highly doubt it the mounting is way different ...if anything could only swap internalsThanks, I'm still searching around. It seems that only M-cars, 540 and 740/750/840/850 have the big casing diffs and the internals from these are mostly compatible.

So I guess that begs the question;

I wonder if the same goes for the small casing diffs... and did BMW fit small or big casing diffs in the first (e28) M5s and the shark 633/635csi?

Furthermore, would a 540 (or other big e32 casing) diff fit in my car?

i think they were small...i had pdf somewhere on my computer discussing all that stuff, need to find that
