Are there any distributors of carsoft with webpages, and what is the rough cost of the software and leads. I am thinking perhaps about buying the software as a long time investment since my next car will most likely be a 90s bmw as well. would also help out the boys down here in australia no doubt as well if one of our crowd had it.

i talked to a dude directly from carsoft a few weeks ago and the real thing is ****ing expensive, it was on sale and still something like $3500 after the euro/dollar conversion for just bmw, if it's not godawful expensive it's probably a ripoff

Any way you go... it is really expensive. Especially the one that can actually read strictly BMW informaiton. Even if you go other brands with a dedicated computer, it is still that much money.

now you are talking thanks, winfred. might have to corner the snap on rep and ask him about them when he comes here in his tool truck next time.
**** looks good, there are cartridges for most things even our domestics here. I think it'd be worth the money. how does the old non-graphing unit compare? i even saw one in the UK with a printer on it!

the non graphing brick is fine you get the same info from the same cartridge, it may be a hair slower and you don't get the cool bright display but it does the same functions, which get better the later the car, like around 95 you can activate certain engine functions like trigger injectors, air pumps, vanos.... and reset the adaptations
