Pulled the temperature sensor from the front bumper and took a reading on the meter. It measures 3.3 x 20k ohms. Does anyone know if this is in range or what the range should be? I tryed the other suggestions like disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and cleaning the connections on the sensor but they did not work. How many of these sensors are there and where are they located? I know there is one on the front bumper, one on the cover for the heater blower and there is one on the heater core I think. Are there any more?
Not sure what the readings should be, but try heating it up and cooling it in the freezer and measuring if the resistance changes in each case. If is doesn't then it is definitely bad.

Great Idea I will try it tomorrow
Thanks

In case you have an IHKA and it is the same as on E32, then you have
five temperature sensors in the system.
1. Passengerside heatercore temperature sensor
2. Driverside heatercore temperature sensor
3. Controlpanel temperature sensor
4. Evaporator temperature sensor
5. Outside temperature sensor
And here are the pics where they are

Thanks for the input. There are some similarities between the 32 and the 34 but it looks like there is an extra sensor on the 34 and it is located on the drivers side up under the bumper. From the web page it looks like all of the sensor have different ohm values. So now its a matter of finding which sensor is the problem child and replacing it. Next question how do you tell which of the six is defective? Is there somewhere I can get the differnet ohm values for the sensors? The -32F reading on the computer is really beginning to bug me. :-)
