will an e36 manual tranny work on a e34 automatic to manual conversion?

how difficult would that be? are they interchangeable?

the output flange will probably be for the wrong diameter flex coupler, i don't thing they interchange on the sticks like they do on the autos, they changed the seal diameter on the couple i've tried to change just on the e36s like a 325 to a 328

I do not think so... I was told that there are far too many differences between the units to make it worthwhile.
