It sounds great! Not nearly as raspy as i thought it would be, nice deep tone at idle and a great purr through the gears. Opening it up you can start to really hear her once your past 2500rpm, theres a nice sweet spot at 3500rpm, after that i couldnt really hear a difference(too much wind.) Driving in economy mode you can barely tell a difference, absolutely no cabin noise difference.
I highly recomend magnaflow cats and a res. delete for all the 530i owners that were nervous about doing it. It is nowhere near load, it sounds the way the car is supposed to sound. I just moved into a new house, so il have to dig up my camera and record some sound and post some pics later...
dig up my camera and record some sound

From the rear
Not gonna be able to get any drive-bys today, but i Did get a couple crap quality cabin clips. It just shows that you can barely hear it, and no drone.

EDIT:

Man, that sounds like what I want when I change my bad cats.
I just swapped my 530iA m60b30 with the m60b40 and found both my cats bad when removing them and will replace them with the 4.0L size parts.
So what MagnaFlow model/parts numbers did you use and how much for the custom magnaflow w. silencer removed?
Does this give a little more HP and REAL flow improvements? Do you plan to re-map the ECU for the improved flow?

Sounds like what I thought when I first got mine, but then the exhuast bedded in and got louder. Why not use 2 magnaflows? It seems like using only one would be like halving the flow of the original big cats.
Have you been on a long drive yet? I never found out how bad my aftermarket resonator was until I had the mother in law in the back for a long drive, she HATED it... I thought it was okay, but it's a different story if all the noise is coming up through yo ass I guess... :D

its two seperate cats in one piece completely partitioned from each other. same size as the single' but with a universal 2" inlet/outlet. Flows the same as the singles.
Havent gone on a long trip yet, il plan one soon and stuff a couple friends back there:D
Nice pics, I'll watch the vids later.

Very helpful input, I might need a new cat anytime soon for the automatic, been doing some search on good aftermarket cats. Nice pics and clean underchassis!
