My mom was hit yesterday, when a 19 year old male, crossed the yellow line becuase he was "resting his eyes." just thought i would show you the pictures that prove bmw is a safe car. Pretty amazing, she is sure to get another bmw, she is looking at the 335 coupe.

Amazing! The front of that car is completely compacted against the rock solid passenger compartment.
My regards to your Mother. I hope she is well.

Yikes!

Looks like the pass side took the brunt, which suggests the guy was WAY over the line.

yeah thank for your blessings, she is doing great a few cuts and bruses. She said she was traveling about 50mph (that was the last speed she saw) and the other guy was going also 50. So the force you can imagine was extreamly high!

he was very far over the line, his car (a dodge minni van) was off the road oo maybe 30-50 feet. And her car was in her lane but facing the other direction, wow!

Very nice, no passenger safety cage deformation at all.

Not many people survive a 100mph frontal impact. Glad she is ok. One thing for sure if she buys a 335 and has the same collision it will not turn out as good for driver.

yeah she is now looking at the new x5 again, they are comp. redone and look so nice, so i dont know what she will end up with..

what do you think would happen to an e34 at this speed, clearly not what happened to her.

Thats probably because running into someone doing 50 whilst doing 50 is the equivalent of a 70 mph front impact.

Still maths aside I am very glad she is okay, don't really have much sympathy for the person who caused the accident though.

Glad she's okay. The X5 is one of the safest vehicles on the road.

BTW: The 335 coupe is VERY safe too. I don't doubt that she wants another BMW after that impact.
