my rear was set to exactly -2.5 camber and .14 and .18 toe each side... I'd rather have it at .25 myself.
Did they add the weights to the car aston? If not you might have been in spec. Mine was a -2.5 unweighted and about -3.5 weighted in the rear before commencing the alignment.

I've done of bunch of work on the front (Lemforder Thrust arms and Control Arms with 750i bushes on the thrust arms, replace a bad tie rod end, replace idler arm bushing, replaced strut bushes.) The rear only has the parts needed for the SLS delete changed. I meant to replace the dogbones before I took it in, but I forgot to order them in time.
The techs were drooling over the rims, could have sold them at a healthy profit. They definitely look better in person than in photos. I haven't come up with a good one to post.

I did add some weight(10 interstate batteries) So I attempted to do what hunter tells me....I did see a little change I believe when I added weight, but not much....

Those specs on the M5 are as badd as mine were in terms of toe out. Bet it eats them rear tires up!

How are your tire wear guys??? Any inside or outside tire wear? I guess Im not use to the alignment specs.... I toe jags at .02 per side and .05 in rear....This gives minimal wear. But the X-type will get 0 toe per side.
Astons will get 0 toe per side. for front. rear .05......Cross caster 0 to -.7
-.5 to -.7 for cross caster is ideal for compensation for road crown.. fyi....

when mine were toe'd out like boomers I got 3-5k per shoulder. Since I have even tire wear rear the last 5k.

Did they just print out your actual specs? Or did they adjust? Does your car pull slighlty right and steering off center to right???.....
Am I....Right right;)

Yeah, sorry I forgot to mention it has Eibach lowering springs in it. The rear used to sit really badly negative but since fitting the koni's it still has some negative camber but not anywhere near as bad as before.
Tyre wear is remarkably even across the tyres on the rear, the front is scalloping the outside blocks at the moment (needs a bunch of neg camber thrown at it with plates) but the wear over the rest of the tyre is fine.
I still have terrible wandering from the front, but new thrust arms with M5 bushes and possibly a tierod end or two will cure it
(235/45/17s front and 255/40/17s rear. M5 specification tyre sizes with the offset rims)
Do you guys find that your car is very suseptable to tyre pressure? I have found that I need to run 270kPa (39-40 psi) front and 290kPa (40-41 psi) rear.

I think I run 40 front and 45 rear myself.
I'm thinking about reducing that for a little ride comfort, as it rode better at 36 40.
Tire pressures definately play a big role in comfort and the stagger front to rear in handling.

Boom zoom...Wandering you say? If it was my sweet ride, I would correct the rear toe first then front toe... then I would check for a tire pull. Had a few cases of bitchin alignemnt adjustments, but the tires were crap....
I used the hunter tire balancer/quick match/road roadforce/runout/suck and ****/ machine to see if I could find the tire that pulls!! But that feature is worthless.
Im going to talk to some techs tomorrow about e34 alignment specs with lowering springs and aftermarket rims just to see what they recommend....

I would love to run lower pressures for daily driving, it's to coin a Mr Project phrase "...a crusty ride" :)
If the pressures are up it doesn't wander as much from the front. In normal driving it is always right hand down to run straight (hands at 1/4 to 3) even on slightly banked right hand corners like on the freeway.
If there is heavy tracks in the bitumen from trucks it is a fight to stay straight as it tries to climb the ridges.
I think that it is a conglomeration of things, Thrust Arm Bushes as I mentioned before are shot. I am pretty confidant that the upper balljoints are tired as the lowers were very sad when I removed them. Idler arm bush could well have some movement in it, possibly tie rod ends inner and outer. The draglink had been replaced a few months before I bought it so that is in the clear. Steering box adjustment, I started to do this but I was unable to get the locknut undone to make the adjustment...soon I will get onto it as I have just 'modified' a single hex 3/4" drive socket for the job :)
Aston Jag Tech, the specs for the wheels tires and suspension are as follows:
Front: Azev Aluminium Rim 8.5" x 17 With Michelin Pilot Preceedas 235/45's
Rear: Azev Aluminium Rim 10" x 17 With Dunlop SP2000E* 255/40's
Eibach 'Sport' Spring set I really have no idea what the lowering distance from stock is I 'think' it is 60mm front and 30mm rear.
Koni 'Adjustable Sport' dampers set at 3/4 of a turn from full soft rebound all round for daily driving.
It will be interesting to see what information you are able to get.
* the 'star' denotes the 'runflat' technology for these tyres AUS$450.00 ea.............it was an expensive day.
Attack Eagle,
I just looked I got these tyres on the rear on December 23rd 2005. Car had 94,000Kms on the odometer, I've just ticked over 112,000 so 18,000Kms the rears have on them ........ gawd I hope you haven't put the mockers on me I haven't really looked at the rears...closely yet...bet they are worn. ;)
All in all I do need to get another alignment and soon simply for the fact that I am not 'enjoying' driving that car as much 'cause it's a fight in the traffic.
P.S. Aston, it's a RHD car as well........just thought I better throw that in :)

I run 40/40 since my first set of tires wore on the outside and my latest set are wearing on the inside. Trying to get the main part of the tire to wear!

So who had their cars geometry setup lately?????
Show me yours and Ill show you mine. ooooohehehehe...
Front...
Camber Left Front-(-.03) Right Front - (-.08)
Cross Caster - (-.50)
Toe - Both sides .02
Rear...
Rear camber not in spec.....-1.29 and -1.18
Toe...which I think is too positive for spec...(.08) per side....
Stock suspension. Stock Wheels.
Left Right
Camber -0.5 -0.2
Caster 7.4 7.6
Toe 0.17 0.17
Total Toe = 0.34
Steer Ahead = 0.0
Rear
Camber -2.2 -2.3
Toe 0.16 0.29
Total Toe = 0.45
Thrust Angle = -0.07
Above was done on 7/28. After this, it started pulling noticeably to the right. Maybe because of road crown?? Doubt it because it happens equally on freeways in the right and left lanes.
Took it back and heres the new numbers (8/1):
Left Right
Camber -0.3 -0.5
Toe 0.17 0.13
Total Toe = 0.30
Cross Camber =0.2
Rears
Camber -2.1 -2.5
Toe 0.14 0.31
Total Toe = 0.44
Thrust Angle = -0.09
Now it feels twitchy as heck. Still has a pull to the right. I'm not sure whether the pressures are set right. I think they may have lowered the pressures prior to doing the alignment.
One thing that has changed is that now it will equally pull to the left if there is a noticeable crown in the road surface to the left.
All measurements done with the recommended loads in the vehicle, both times. 500 lbs of salt bags. ick.
I'm goign to change the rear pitman arms in the am tomorrow and take it back to the shop to see if they can tweak the toe settings. Any suggestions or recommendations? This is mainly transportation for my two year old.
I'd hate to have to drive this thing as is in the middle of a wisconsin snow storm.
ooo, had mine done recently.
Front:
Left Right
Camber: -.52 -.40
Caster: 7.17 7.25
Toe: .16 .17
Total Toe: .33
Steer Ahead: -.01
Rear:
Left Right
Camber: -2.11 -1.45
Toe: .13 .21
Total Toe: .34
Thrust Angle -.03
I was told both of my casters were shot. I should get on that.
