This dosent seem right, i would think each model would have its own individual air flow sensor.
Tell me if this would work with my 530:

Use realoem, find your part number for your car, go back to the start page of realoen, scroll down and click search by part number, type in the part number of your car and then you have the cross reference showing you all cars / engines where the part with the same part number is used

I tried that but i didn't realise it was a 95' 525i. Now that i checked again the parts do match up, so i guess it will work. I just thought that the MAF sensor mapped out how much fuel and spark the engine needed acording to the airflow, thus being different engines, there should be different results... I dunno, maybe im way off:D

I don't think I'd be "investing" in a $50 used MAF

think i should just go new? their like $280+...
on another note it looks like the m50 platform uses the same sensor my m60 does.

$ 50 is not that bad, I already sold several from my parts 750 cars and they work, no problem.
Another possibility to get a new one cheaper: go to a Bosch service dealer, they sell them as they are made by Bosch, usually the sticker on the MAF shows BMW OEM number and the Bosch part number.
